I know the common thing to do is to write a post where I share my goals for 2018, but this year I decided to take a slightly different angle. Goals are great; they set purpose and intention, but they can also be overwhelming and place a lot of pressure on the next 12 months. So as a slightly more positive spin, I’ve decided to share what’s getting me excited, inspired and igniting my spark for 2018.
Watch
RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 3
In the world of Sinéad, Drag Race is not so much a TV show as it is a way of life. So you can imagine I’m deeeelighted to once again devour my weekly fix of drag with an all-new season of All Stars, which will see contestants from previous seasons get a second chance at claiming a coveted spot in the Drag Hall of Fame. All Stars is always exciting to watch as queens you’re familiar with from previous seasons often ru-veal a new side to them – sometimes good, sometimes not-so-good (All Stars 2 was shrouded in controversy regarding the portrayal of certain queens).
American Crime Story: Versace
Anyone who knows me knows that my TV watchlist doesn’t extend much beyond than Drag Race, but I have been known to enjoy American Horror Story. So when I heard that its sister show, American Crime Story was basing its second season on the tragic murder of one of my all-time favourite fashion designers, I knew it would be essential viewing. ACS2 is set to retell the assassination of Gianni Versace, and the trailer alone has me hooked. Worth a watch just to see Penelope Cruz nailing it as Donatella!
Ocean’s 8
MORE FASHION MEETS CRIME? WITH A SLEW OF BAD-ASS LEADING LADIES? AND SAID LEADING LADIES ARE INVOLVED IN THE SCHEMING AND PLOTTING?
SIGN. ME. UP.
The internet was already ablaze with excitement following this film’s cast announcement, but the release of the trailer just sent things over the edge. And it’s easy to see why. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve been excited about a film’s release in a very long time (films = big time commitment so I choose very carefully. Unless it’s The Devil Wears Prada. Then I have a lot of time for that. There’s always time for that).
Listen
Kacey Musgraves
It’s been a whole 3 years since Kacey Musgraves stole my heart with Pageant Material; a unforgettably witty album smothered in irresistable melodies, scattered with wise quirks and sprinkled with rhinestones. Whilst a concrete release date is yet to be announced, Golden Hour is rumoured to grace our ears early this year. By the sounds of things, Golden Hour sees Musgraves exploring identity and the various faces we wear.
Nicki Minaj
Another album with an elusive release date, but there’s been heavy speculation that we’re due new music from the rap queen soon. Whilst I’m extremely partial to a Nicki feature (Swish Swish was a good moment, fight me), I find at her finest on her own albums.
Blogging

Getting more consistent with YouTube
After investing in my Macbook, I finally got into the swing of iMovie and editing towards the end of last year. Now that creating videos doesn’t feel like such a minefield anymore, I really want to push myself to upload at least 2 videos to my YouTube channel each month! Coming up with ideas, filming, editing and then uploading is no joke, but all in all I really enjoy the process and find it so rewarding!
Experimenting with blog content
I’d been doing a lot of thinking about Fabuleuse Du Jour’s purpose and how I see its future, so I recently ran a few polls on my Instagram and Twitter to find out what content people wanted to see more of. Considering my blog was born out of my love of fashion, I was surprised to see so many requests for non-fashion content (beauty/music/travel/career/general lifestyle). So whilst I’m not going to stop fashion content anytime soon, I’m really looking forward to exploring new avenues for blog content, hopefully you guys enjoy it too!
OTHER
More live shows/events
One of my goals this year is to see at least 1 live act/go to an event of some sort each month. That could be music, a drag performer, a food festival, a theatre show, exhibition…anything along those lines. I don’t live far from London so I want to make the most of that, plus explore stuff happening locally to me too!
Tomorrow I’m off to see Sasha Velour (Season 9 winner & current reigning queen of RuPaul’s Drag Race) so we’re definitely starting on a high note. Let me know if you know of any music/fashion/food/culture happenings you think I might be interested in!

…Moving out?
Soooo this is a big one. But after 2 1/2 years living with my parents after uni, I think the time has officially come to step out on my own! It’s still in its early stages but I will of course be keeping you guys updated…if all goes to plan I should be blogging/vlogging from my own space by the end of 2018!
What does 2018 hold in store for you?
